As you approach Circle of Life Thunderbird House, one thing will be abundantly clear – it is not a place you will easily forget.
Thunderbird House will open your mind to Aboriginal culture in a way you never thought possible. From the moment you walk in you will be offered positive insights into the culture and heritage of Winnipeg’s Aboriginal people.
Thunderbird House offers a place of refuge and sanctuary, a way for Indigenous people to ground themselves in pride of who they are and give back to their community, as is our tradition.
Everyone is welcome.
The Circle of Life Thunderbird House is inviting community members to step into the circle! We have weekly sweats, and weekly drum circles. We are currently restructuring our volunteer program and will be sharing new updates via our website and social media feeds (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter).
Our featured event is a community PIPE CEREMONY for Thunderbird House on Sunday August 16th at 12 noon. Elder Larry Monkman will be smoking his pipe and inviting the ancestors to sit with our community members and ask for spiritual guidance. All pipe carriers and teachings are welcome in the circle.
